We advise on British citizenship applications — including naturalisation, registration and nationality advice for adults and children. We carry out a careful eligibility assessment before recommending that you apply.
Obtaining British citizenship is a significant legal step. We assess your eligibility precisely — checking your residence history, absence record, English language and Life in the UK test compliance, and good character position — before advising you to proceed.
We do not guarantee the outcome of any citizenship application.
Naturalisation (Form AN) is the most common route to British citizenship. You must have been settled in the UK (with ILR or indefinite leave to enter) for at least 12 months, have been physically present in the UK for 5 years prior (3 years if married to or in a civil partnership with a British citizen), pass the English language requirement and the Life in the UK test, and be of good character. Absences from the UK must not exceed 450 days in the 5-year qualifying period, with no more than 90 days in the final 12 months.
For settled persons with 5 years' qualifying residence. We check your residence history, calculate absences precisely and advise on eligibility before you apply.
For those married to or in a civil partnership with a British citizen. Requires 3 years' continuous lawful residence and ILR. We check the qualifying period and any complicating factors.
Where there are previous visa refusals, criminal convictions or cautions, excessive absences or other good character concerns, we advise carefully on whether the application is likely to succeed.
We calculate your qualifying absences precisely, checking Home Office entry and exit records against your own travel history to identify any issues before submission.
Some individuals have an entitlement — rather than a discretion — to register as British citizens. Registration routes exist for children born in the UK to settled parents, children of British citizens born abroad, and others with statutory entitlements under the British Nationality Act 1981.
A child born in the UK to a parent who is a British citizen or settled in the UK at the time of birth is a British citizen automatically. We advise on registration and documentation where proof is needed.
Children of British citizens born outside the UK may be registerable as British citizens depending on the parent's own citizenship route. We advise on the applicable statutory provision.
Advice for those with a British parent or grandparent, including applications under the Historical Injustices provisions introduced in the Nationality and Borders Act 2022.
Advice on registration for stateless children born in the UK who have not acquired another nationality.
